        位于微脈管系統的內皮細胞在炎癥發生過程中扮演了“門衛”的角色,它可以吸收循環至組織和炎癥病灶的炎癥因子。研究表明,人食道微血管內皮細胞對脂多糖、細胞素和pH暴露表現出很強的炎癥免疫反應,因此該細胞對食道炎癥起到了關鍵的調節作用。當暴露于酸性pH中時,該細胞表達特定的蛋白,如VCAM-1,但不表達其它蛋白,如ICAM-1。這種表達方式在胃食管反流疾病引發的細胞反應中起到了一定的作用。
        Sciencell研究實驗室的人食道微血管內皮細胞是從人食道組織中分離得到的,一代凍存,冰凍運輸。每管細胞密度超過5×10^5 ml。該細胞可通過VWF/Factor VIII 及 CD31 (PECAM)特異性抗體的的免疫熒光鑒定和DiI-Ac-LDL的提取鑒定。該細胞不含HIV-1、HBV、HCV、支原體、細菌、酵母菌和真菌。如采用ScienCell 實驗室特制的培養基,可保證此細胞15倍增值。
